On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, Governor L. Douglas Wilder delivered remarks at an event organized in his honor by Virginia Commonwealth University L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs, along with Virginia Union University and Howard University. The event, held at the Claude G. Perkins Living and Learning Center, VUU, celebrated Governor Wilder’s seventy years of revered public service, dedication to civil rights, visionary education, and people-first governance.
